The Pitmaster Competition

Teams man their own fire — smoker, grill, or open asado pit — through a low-and-slow cook, seasoning and tending across hours toward a blind judging. Fire management, side dishes, and showmanship all score in a proper backyard-championship format.

Why It Bonds

A multi-hour cook demands shifts and patience, so teams rotate the fire-tending and settle into long, unhurried conversation around the smoke — the bonding happens in the waiting as much as the winning.

Running at Scale

Each team runs one rig in an outdoor cook zone; scale by lining up more smokers/pits across a field or ranch yard, judged in categories with a shared awards feast at the end.
